Blue Man Crew Spirit Section

Starting with this week’s Homecoming football game, you will notice that there are 8 rows of seating on the home side that have been painted blue.  This is a special section for very spirited Warriors called the Blue Man Crew.

Blue Man Crew Section

In order to get into the Blue Man Crew section, students or fans must have some form of blue paint on their bodies. It can be as simple as a blue “P” on their cheek or a full face painting. Students are talking about it and are really excited to be a part of it.

Show your Warrior Spirit by being part of the Blue Man Crew!

Ruben Canastillo Breaks Football Record

During the football game versus the Cholla Chargers, senior Ruben Canastillo broke the record for longest interception return for a touchdown.  Ruben intercepted a pass on the 2 yard line and took it 98 yards for the score.

The previous record was held by Charles Quihuis (Bowerman) 1971 & Robert Greene (Bowerman) 1975 both for 90 yards.

Here’s the video:

Ruben was very excited to find he had broken the record.  “I just read the quarterbacks eyes and broke on the play,” he said.  He received a plaque and his name will be added to the football record books.

Congratulations to Ruben!  The question is, how long will this record stand?

New Marquee Project Taking Shape

In case you haven’t noticed, our 12th Avenue entrance has changed drastically over the summer.  The entryway construction has been completed and traffic is flowing nicely into Pueblo.

The other part of the project is underway with the construction of the new archway already in place.

New archway in place

The archway will be completed with red masonry as the base in the coming week.  Then we move on to the big one, our new digital marquee.

Stay tuned for updates and news on the completion of this project.
