Mina Trivedi, an Ultrasound Technician of M & B Image Corporation, came to Pueblo today and presented career information to some of our Anatomy students today.
Mina demonstrated different ultrasound procedures with her portable machine that cost more the $50,000. The images and sounds from the machine were amazing.
She started with images of the carotid artery and then the heart. Other students volunteered to get their kidney and gallbladder scanned. Here’s a small video of some images of the valves in the heart in action:
The demonstrations gave students an idea of the various procedures ultrasound technicians perform. Mina summarized the schooling required and stated how this career field is growing.
We appreciate her taking the time to share her knowledge and skills with out students.
TUSD Groundskeepers gave our campus palm trees a much needed pruning today. Our palm trees have grown past 40 feet, which require a big truck equipped with a high-reaching bucket lift to prune. This crew works together at all TUSD schools that require this service.
These palm trees have been around for quite some time. See if you can recognize them in the picture below taken in 1965.
Pueblo is proud to be the starting point of the annual Cesar E. Chavez March. The purpose of the march is to celebrate the life and work of César E. Chávez, a life long leader for social justice.
Several of our students and teachers participated in this years march and prepared signs to display at the gathering that featured Dolores Huerta.
The march ends at Rodeo park, where supporters gather and listen to guest speakers on a mobile stage. For more information on this march and future ones visit www.azcesarchavezcoalition.com.
We uploaded a short video. See if you can spot some current and former Pueblo teachers.
