Pat’s Place Is Open For Business

The CTE program has opened a store that will serve the student body with school supplies, spirit items & healthy snacks. They will also sell school shirts and other items designed and made by our very own Graphic Arts Department.

The store will be called Pat’s Place in honor of Patricia Dienz, who is leaving Pueblo after being named Director of High Schools in TUSD.

Pat's Place Ribbon Ceremony

Many students attended the ribbon cutting ceremony this morning. Patricia was in tears as she told the students how grateful she was for this honor.

Pat’s Place is a work in progress and has been curriculum based since the very beginning. The Business students created a business plan/proposal which was submitted to administration. In order for a student to work in the store they will need to fill out a job application and go through an interview process.

The store will be open from 7:15 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. and it’s located between rooms 172 & 173. Food items will not be sold during lunch periods.

Help Us Get A New Marquee!

We have some exciting news! As part of a joint project with TUSD & Adjacent Ways, Pueblo has a unique opportunity to upgrade our marquee. Our current marquee would be replaced with a proposed re-alignment of our entry way to Pueblo scheduled for this summer. We will post more information on that project as it becomes available.

That project budgeted $22,000 to move our current marquee from its current location. Instead of using that funding to move our old marquee, Pueblo would need to raise a minimum of $14,000 by March 5th, 2010 to replace it with a more modern one. The Pueblo student body is very excited and determined to make this happen!

As part of a counselor outreach program, they recently served breakfast on 3 occasions for about 60 guests. They would prepare a menu for each session and purchase ingredients accordingly. Cooking would begin before sunrise at 6:00 a.m. in order to have food ready for our guests.

On this occasion the menu included: chilaquiles topped with queso fresco, scrambled eggs with nopalitos, frijoles, tortillas and a chilled glass of orange juice or coffee.
