This year\u2019s contenders were seniors Sergio Cordova, Sabrina Parra, Zelin Pallanes and Gelsey Grijalva.<\/p>\n<p>During halftime, our Warriors\u2019 choice was announced: King Zelin and Queen Gelsey!<\/p>\n<p>Grijalva, who is a member of the Spirit Line, accepted the crown with great surprise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI felt excited to be chosen as my school\u2019s homecoming queen because it\u2019s such a great tradition!\u201d Grijalva said. \u201cBecoming queen was such an honor especially at the last home football game during our awesome winning season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She paused and added, \u201cThis is the last home [football] game that I\u2019ll ever attend as a Pueblo student, so the entire night was very sentimental and especially memorable. I\u2019ll never forget the magic in the air\u2014not only to be voted queen but also to be a part of this triumphant season at Pueblo.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Homecoming King Zelin Pallanes said, \u201cI was totally surprised that my peers would vote for me, so I am definitely humbled by the entire experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy crown is going to remain a treasure in my life,\u201d Pallanes said. \u201cIt means a lot to me that I won during the last home game of this triumphant football season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For the rest of the evening, Pallanes and Grijalva cheered on their Warrior team.
