She performed monologues from <em>Jake\u2019s Women<\/em> by Neil Simon and <em>The Scottish Play<\/em> by William Shakespeare.<\/p>\n<p>Martinez said, \u201cIt was an overwhelming experience! I got to spend this moment with people who have the same passion as me. This experience taught me a lot about myself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Sarah Sutton, Pueblo\u2019s drama teacher, said, \u201cI knew during rehearsals that Andrea Martinez was doing really well. I was and am very proud of her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pueblo\u2019s drama students who attended the festival performed solo monologues, small group plays; musicals, and duets.<\/p>\n<p>Sutton began preparing her students after winter break, which involved daily practices to be competitive by late January. Her students selected their own material that they wanted to perform.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Santos Barbosa said, \u201cEveryone there tried their very best and had lots of fun.\u201d Barbosa said that he performed a duet from the play\/movie, <em>The Producers<\/em> called \u201cWe Can Do It\u201d<em> <\/em>with his drama class peer, Gilbert Becerra, a junior.<\/p>\n<p>Sutton said, \u201cI\u2019m hoping that we continue this tradition each year.
