He received the official news that he was just one of 25 math teachers in thirteen states to be honored for this award.<\/p>\n<p>Nominated by co-teacher Ms. Shanti Foster last semester, Campbell learned early last summer that he would be competing in the finals. Campbell was asked a series of questions on an application and his responses determined him to be a finalist.<\/p>\n<p>On August 31, Campbell was informed that he was one of the 25 recipients of the math award.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2212\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2212\" style=\"width: 440px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Charles-Billy-Campbell-Math-Teacher-Pueblo-Awarded.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[2210]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2212\" src=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Charles-Billy-Campbell-Math-Teacher-Pueblo-Awarded-500x375.jpg\" alt=\"Charles Billy Campbell Math Teacher Pueblo Awarded\" width=\"440\" height=\"330\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Charles-Billy-Campbell-Math-Teacher-Pueblo-Awarded-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Charles-Billy-Campbell-Math-Teacher-Pueblo-Awarded-550x413.jpg 550w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/Charles-Billy-Campbell-Math-Teacher-Pueblo-Awarded.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 440px) 100vw, 440px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2212\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mr. Charles William &#8220;Billy&#8221; Campbell<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;I feel a greater sense of accomplishment for being honored for what I do every day,\u201d Campbell said. \u201cIt\u2019s a pretty big thing, you know? Being recognized for the hard work you do is always nice\u2014and we [teachers] feel as good as students who are nominated for an award. It\u2019s like somebody saying, \u2018Good job\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Campbell said that he wholeheartedly loves his job and is always striving to teach math to Pueblo students to the best of his ability. He added that no matter what he does, there is always a way to be better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhatever I do, I want to do it well,\u201d Campbell said. \u201cWhether it\u2019s teaching, playing video games, being and playing with my son, I want to do it the best I possibly can be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Campbell said that after receiving this award, he felt a sense of knowing that he is doing something right. He also expressed gratitude to his students for allowing him to teach them and that they continue to motivate him to always be his best.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel there are a lot of people to thank, but most importantly, I\u2019d like to say, \u2018Thank you\u2019 to all of my students,\u201d he said. \u201cThey allow me to work hard with the best educators. I have worked with a lot of great teachers throughout the years, especially here at Pueblo. I am so fortunate to work with and belong to the most awesome math department!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Campbell received $2,500 for his award, and that same amount was matched and awarded to Pueblo.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations Mr. Campbell!
