October 27\u00a0was\u00a0Pueblo Pride Day, a time when our Warriors and other volunteers met\u00a0after school in the cafeteria at 3:30 p.m., and for an hour, they cleaned and better our Pueblo community.<\/p>\n

This event, which was started by the Science Club (sponsored by Dr. Lolita Levine) was\u00a0bigger and better this year. CCLC provided\u00a0snacks and water for \u00a0participants who worked hard to beautify our campus.<\/p>\n

Students and volunteers performed\u00a0duties such as weeding the garden, picking up trash and painting the red drive way curve.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody is smiling, and that\u2019s the best part,\u201d Levine said. \u201cIt\u2019s nice to see teachers and students working side by side.\u201d<\/p>\n

Students were\u00a0separated into different groups in the cafeteria, which will each be led by their own leaders for different sections at school.<\/p>\n

One of the group leaders is Ms. Elizabeth Raizk, one of Pueblo\u2019s science teachers, and she was\u00a0in charge of the garden group.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is how we show our Pueblo community that we are doing more things [community service] to make Pueblo a better place,\u201d Raizk said. \u201cPueblo gets cleaner, and it shows our community how great we are. This event is a win-win scenario.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI really want to emphasize our school and nourish our soul,\u201d Levine said. \u201cThis is not just a school\u2014it is our home.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
