However, Arizona is not the place to act and model, Valdez said, because of the very few opportunities available.<\/p>\n<p>Though he struggled a lot and hit many lows (including living in his car for nearly two months), his persistence allowed him to keep dreaming about \u201cmaking it\u201d in California.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s humbling to admit how rough times became,\u201d Valdez said. \u201cBut I wasn\u2019t returning to Tucson so easily and quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>His perseverance has paid off.<\/p>\n<p>Valdez has been featured on shows such as <em>Scandal<\/em>, <em>Switched at Birth<\/em>, and <em>Black Code<\/em> and hopes to one day even move into production.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It felt so great knowing I finally got here,&#8221; Valdez said. \u201cNothing has been easy, and I don\u2019t expect things to stay easy for long. But, I love doing what I am doing\u2014and everybody should love what they do for a living.
