The show is called \u201cExpectations vs. Reality\u201d, and there will be four performances.<\/p>\n<p>After all of the month-long challenges to remember their lines and character building, teacher and director Ms. Sarah Sutton is eager for her students\u2019 performance to entertain and impact audiences emotionally, as well as to make them laugh.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That\u2019s [making an audience laugh and making an emotional impact is] an actor\u2019s job,&#8221; Sutton explained. &#8220;We want to entertain\u2014whether our acting makes the audience laugh, or cry.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2582\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2582\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Pueblo-Players-Drama-2016-Expectations-Vs-Reality-Set.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[2580]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2582 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Pueblo-Players-Drama-2016-Expectations-Vs-Reality-Set-550x413.jpg\" alt=\"pueblo-players-drama-2016-expectations-vs-reality-set\" width=\"550\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Pueblo-Players-Drama-2016-Expectations-Vs-Reality-Set-550x413.jpg 550w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Pueblo-Players-Drama-2016-Expectations-Vs-Reality-Set-500x375.jpg 500w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Pueblo-Players-Drama-2016-Expectations-Vs-Reality-Set-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/Pueblo-Players-Drama-2016-Expectations-Vs-Reality-Set.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2582\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pueblo Players Drama rehearsing for upcoming shows.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Sutton said the show will definitely entertain, but some audience members may consider the rating to be PG-13 because of some of the show\u2019s themes\u2014including conversations regarding relationships, teen pregnancy, alcoholism, suicide and death.<\/p>\n<p>Sutton wants the community to know that although these \u201cthings\u201d are prevalent, \u201cit\u2019s not the crux of the show. Sometimes we think that teens aren\u2019t listening to adults, but everything that we adults say and do influences their every-day life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This show has been approved by school administrators.<\/p>\n<p>She also explained students have invested a lot of after school time to rehearse this performance\u2014an estimated 52 hours!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is also our first show with live music,\u201d Sutton said. \u201cOver the years, we\u2019ve proven ourselves to the Pueblo Community, and we now have faculty asking to help with lights and sound.\u201d She paused and said, \u201cThat\u2019s how professional our program is now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the show, Sutton said, is to entertain.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Jalena Norzagaray said, \u201cI want to leave a legacy for incoming theater students. I want to inspire the younger actors and actresses to commit to this program because it has helped me in so many different areas of my personal and academic life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added that practices were sometimes grueling but enjoyed how after all of the hard work, everyone united as a huge family.<\/p>\n<p>Sutton added, \u201cI\u2019ve had many of these students since they were freshmen, and to see them now as seniors and how they have grown into young adults is incredibly rewarding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"550\" height=\"309\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OHr1uRYmcCM?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p><em>[Writer\u2019s footnote: I truly had the honor of watching this performance before the opening night, Thursday, Dec. 1.
