Besides our own nearly100 Pueblo students, we hosted more than 50 Cholla students. We were also able to have presenters from TUSD, local organizations, professors from the University of Arizona and our very own Pueblo teachers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, two science teachers (Dr. Andrew Lettes and Ms. Elizabeth Raizk) held workshops to educate students about Valley Fever and environmental racism, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The conference lasted for an entire standard school day\u20148 a.m. until 3:15 p.m. Early on, participating students were welcomed accordingly and later divided into three groups (pink, yellow and green) that would direct them to different workshops around campus.<\/p>\n<p>Many Pueblo students left the conference with a deeper comprehension of political and social issues that affect them in their lives.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI learned that there are many ways for the community to come together for a problem everyone has but doesn\u2019t see,\u201d said Liam Membrila, a senior.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2878\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2878\" style=\"width: 547px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Pueblo-Many-Faces-Of-Action-Conference-2017-Cholla-Students.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[2875]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2878 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Pueblo-Many-Faces-Of-Action-Conference-2017-Cholla-Students-547x550.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"547\" height=\"550\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Pueblo-Many-Faces-Of-Action-Conference-2017-Cholla-Students-547x550.jpg 547w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Pueblo-Many-Faces-Of-Action-Conference-2017-Cholla-Students-100x100.jpg 100w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Pueblo-Many-Faces-Of-Action-Conference-2017-Cholla-Students-497x500.jpg 497w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Pueblo-Many-Faces-Of-Action-Conference-2017-Cholla-Students-768x772.jpg 768w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Pueblo-Many-Faces-Of-Action-Conference-2017-Cholla-Students.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 547px) 100vw, 547px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2878\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cholla students were invited to come<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI feel more confident in ways I could get involved because I\u2019ve wanted to help with the issues going on but I was confused and now I feel a lot more prepared,\u201d said Jacquelyne Acu\u00f1a, a junior.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of \u2018DACA\u2019 students are struggling, and we need more support and people to be aware.
