The boys practiced everyday from 3:30-5:30 p.m., and\nwith a new coach, Mr. Dillon Cox said, the team felt like they were going to go\nin a new direction this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coach Cox said, \u201cWe had a lot of fun together, and despite the\nlosses this year, I&#8217;m looking forward to the team\u2019s future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, despite all of the practice, the Pueblo boys\u2019 soccer team\nend up with a season record of 1-10-1. \u00ad\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior Everto Morales, Jr. said, \u201cThe team&#8217;s weakness is that when\nwe lost, we put our heads down and started wanting to quit the team. We needed\nto be stronger.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, despite weaknesses, the team showed many admirable\nstrengths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior Ramon Estrella, #14, part of the team\u2019s defense, said, \u201cOne\nof the team&#8217;s biggest strengths was our chemistry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding to that, senior Sergio Olivas, a forward, said, \u201cThe team\ncarried a good attitude! The guys were always ready to play, and they all had a\nstrong mentality.\u201d He added, \u201cThe boys felt that they touched the ball more\nthis year, and they enjoyed the new coach\u2019s fresh attitude about keeping us\npositive as well as his new vision of our team.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the season is over, Olivas said, \u201cFrom the beginning, it\nwas obvious that we had a very slim to no chance of entering the playoffs, but\nthere\u2019s always next year for the underclassmen.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Feb. 6, the Warriors played their last game against Palo Verde.\nAlthough Pueblo lost (the score was 0-4) on Senior Night.\n\nOlivas said, \u201cEven with a\nlosing season, we were like a family\u2014from beginning to end.\u201d\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Palmira Henriquez &amp; Daeyalina Moreno The Pueblo\u2019s boys soccer season is over, and all of those long hours of practicing are over.
