{"id":3658,"date":"2023-10-19T09:17:05","date_gmt":"2023-10-19T16:17:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/?p=3658"},"modified":"2023-10-19T09:17:05","modified_gmt":"2023-10-19T16:17:05","slug":"welcome-ms-levine-to-pueblo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/2023\/10\/welcome-ms-levine-to-pueblo\/","title":{"rendered":"Welcome, Ms. Levine, To Pueblo!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Alexis Vargas &amp; Emely Villanueva<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Lisa-Levine-Pueblo-High-School-Teacher.jpg\" rel=\"lightbox[3658]\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"339\" height=\"339\" src=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Lisa-Levine-Pueblo-High-School-Teacher.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3659\" style=\"width:250px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Lisa-Levine-Pueblo-High-School-Teacher.jpg 339w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Lisa-Levine-Pueblo-High-School-Teacher-100x100.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 339px) 100vw, 339px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Pueblo\u2019s English department\u2019s most recent addition, Ms. Lisa Levine, has been enjoying her time as a Warrior thus far, helping to inspire freshmen and sophomores with her love of reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Levine\u2019s expertise in various genres of literature can be attributed to her history in the pursuit of higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI received my bachelor\u2019s degree in comparative literature at University of California, [Berkeley] and a master\u2019s degree at the University of Arizona in creative writing,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As her passion for writing developed, so did her desire to teach and she began in 2000 as a part-time profession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI taught part-time until 2014, and then I started teaching full-time,\u201d Levine said. \u201cIn addition to teaching English, I\u2019ve taught reading intervention, all subjects to fourth graders including some creative writing and humanities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Living in Sierra Vista, Calif. and New York for job opportunities, moving to Pueblo has been an adjustment for Levine as she describes the connections she has made as \u201cmeaningful\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c[My move to Tucson has been] different,\u201d Levine said. \u201cThe people here are amazing!
