{"id":3903,"date":"2024-04-11T10:52:00","date_gmt":"2024-04-11T17:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/?p=3903"},"modified":"2024-05-07T10:56:22","modified_gmt":"2024-05-07T17:56:22","slug":"pueblo-science-night-another-explosive-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/2024\/04\/pueblo-science-night-another-explosive-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Pueblo Science Night: Another \u2018Explosive\u2019 Success"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Jose Jovel<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Pueblo-Science-Night-Exhibit-2024-550x375.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3904\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Pueblo-Science-Night-Exhibit-2024-550x375.jpg 550w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Pueblo-Science-Night-Exhibit-2024-500x341.jpg 500w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Pueblo-Science-Night-Exhibit-2024-768x524.jpg 768w, https:\/\/pueblowarriors.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Pueblo-Science-Night-Exhibit-2024.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>On Friday, March 22, Pueblo\u2019s Science Club held their 17th annual \u201cScience Night\u201d in the patio and South Gym after school for guests to enjoy and to intrigue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Science Club was not the only group present; multiple science classes showcased several types of science experiments and activities to entertain and fascinate visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Science club sponsor Ms. Vaishali Jaiswal said, \u201cStudents did an amazing job with participating during Science Night, and my anatomy class dissected a rabbit and sheep&#8217;s eye.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pueblo High School\u2019s physics, chemistry, physiology, and biotechnology students and teachers answered questions to the science-curious, and they boasted their knowledge of various sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PHS\u2019s Mariachi Aztlan, Tucson Electrical Power, and representatives from the University of Arizona food safety group also made their presence known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Science Club president junior Esmeralda Almazan said, \u201cScience Night was an immense success in my opinion, and I cannot wait for next year&#8217;s event to make this an even grander event.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Science Club members were successful organizing this evening, spending weeks orchestrated various activities and to set up for visitors from not only PHS students, faculty and staff but also community members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Science club sponsor Ms. Elaine Straub said, \u201cWe sponsors just make sure to facilitate the meetings and ensure we have the space ready for Science Night. The students are really the ones who run the show.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Science clubs plan to continue meeting every Thursday after school, conduct more experiments, recruit more members, and get more advertising for next year&#8217;s Science Night for an even better turn-out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Science Club vice-president Czarina Grijalva said, \u201cWe need to advertise better, but everything else about Science Night was a success.
