Ruben Canastillo Breaks Football Record

// September 16th, 2010 // Athletics, Records, Video

During the football game versus the Cholla Chargers, senior Ruben Canastillo broke the record for longest interception return for a touchdown.  Ruben intercepted a pass on the 2 yard line and took it 98 yards for the score.

The previous record was held by Charles Quihuis (Bowerman) 1971 & Robert Greene (Bowerman) 1975 both for 90 yards.

Here’s the video:

Ruben was very excited to find he had broken the record.  “I just read the quarterbacks eyes and broke on the play,” he said.  He received a plaque and his name will be added to the football record books.

Congratulations to Ruben!  The question is, how long will this record stand?

  2. certainly like your web-site however you have to test the spelling on several of your posts. A number of them are rife with spelling problems and I in finding it very bothersome to inform the reality then again I’ll definitely come again again.
