Earth Day 2010

Hand Dryers
Earth Day is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment. Earth Day is now observed each year on April 22 in virtually every country on Earth.

Pueblo celebrates Earth Day 2010:

  • Students will wear green
  • Faculty & Staff will wear their Earth Day Shirts
  • Trees will be planted in Environmental Study Center
  • Anatomy Class is creating Rube Goldberg contraptions using recyclable materials
  • Administration ordered 8 XLERATOR® High Speed Energy Efficient Hand Dryers and will install them strategically throughout the school over the summer. The hand dryers will save us money on paper towels, promote hygiene and helps preserve the environment
  • PuebloWarriors.org goes green
  • Copy Machine off all day

Do your part! What are you doing on Earth Day?

Alexandra Zapruder Visits Pueblo

As part of a collaboration with the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona, students had the opportunity to participate in a Q & A with author, film-writer and educator Alexandra Zapruder.

I’m Still Here, an MTV film based on her book Salvaged Pages was screened in the auditorium for our students. Here’s the movie trailer of the film:

The following day, students were able to share their thoughts on the film with Alexandra. Many had interesting questions and perspectives regarding the diaries written by youth Holocaust survivors.

This presentation was an excellent learning opportunity for our students. We want to thank Alexandra for coming and Bryan Davis, Youth and Holocaust Education Coordinator, for making it possible.

Pueblo Palm Trees Get Pruned

TUSD Groundskeepers gave our campus palm trees a much needed pruning today. Our palm trees have grown past 40 feet, which require a big truck equipped with a high-reaching bucket lift to prune. This crew works together at all TUSD schools that require this service.

These palm trees have been around for quite some time. See if you can recognize them in the picture below taken in 1965.
