Poet Logan Phillips – Dirty Verbs

Poet Logan Phillips visited Pueblo to share some of his poems and invite students to an upcoming Poetry Slam.  He also shared some of his recent experiences living in Mexico and the poems inspired from his stay there.  He had the crowd of about 100 students laughing with his repertoire.

Here’s a poem about Dinosaurs:

Logan encouraged Pueblo students to participate in an upcoming workshop sponsored by Nuestra Voz.  Several students expressed their interest in poetry and asked various questions.

We want to thank Logan for taking the time to visit our school and all the kind words he had to say about Pueblo.  We will work on forming our Poetry Slam Warrior Team!  If you are interested, visit Mrs. Rusk in Room 212 for more information.

Final Voting For Warrior Mascot

Student Council is moving forward with a final vote for our mascot.

Just to be clear, we will remain the Pueblo Warriors. We are voting for a mascot to represent us at sporting events and other school functions. For example, the Phoenix Suns have a Gorilla and the Arizona Diamondbacks have a Bobcat as mascots at their sporting events. Neither of their mascots have anything in common with their official team names. They are just cool! That’s what Student Council is trying to accomplish.

The final choices chosen by the students are:

  • Warrior Wolf
  • Warrior Puma
  • Warrior Dragon
Warrior Mascot Choices
These are the top three choices that will be altered with PUEBLO COLORS

The voting will take place in the Pueblo Auditorium lobby on Thursday, February 18 and Friday, February 19 from 2:30-6:00 p.m. Teachers, coaches, alumni, staff members and students can vote once.

Student Council appreciates your support for what they feel simulates a real election. Make your vote count!

Thank you for your participation!

Pat’s Place Is Open For Business

The CTE program has opened a store that will serve the student body with school supplies, spirit items & healthy snacks. They will also sell school shirts and other items designed and made by our very own Graphic Arts Department.

The store will be called Pat’s Place in honor of Patricia Dienz, who is leaving Pueblo after being named Director of High Schools in TUSD.

Pat's Place Ribbon Ceremony

Many students attended the ribbon cutting ceremony this morning. Patricia was in tears as she told the students how grateful she was for this honor.

Pat’s Place is a work in progress and has been curriculum based since the very beginning. The Business students created a business plan/proposal which was submitted to administration. In order for a student to work in the store they will need to fill out a job application and go through an interview process.

The store will be open from 7:15 a.m. – 2:45 p.m. and it’s located between rooms 172 & 173. Food items will not be sold during lunch periods.
